Put any bunch of unicyclists together, and sooner or later someone is going to want to see who can do the best tricks, or who can ride faster. One of the things the USA does is invent and maintain rules for unicycle competition. You can see competitions not
only at our annual North American Unicycling Championships and Convention, but also at smaller local or regional events around the country.
USA Competition Rules
The Unicycling Society of America maintains a sizeable rulebook. Always check to see if you have the latest version, which is 2008 as of February, 2008. These documents are in PDF format.
A part of the USA Rulebook is the Skill Levels. The 10 levels provide objective standards by which a unicyclist can measure achievement as he/she increases in proficiency at unicycle riding.
Addressing the need for a levels system for other types of unicycling Carol McLean has been working since 2002 with an international group of riders to develop this more diverse skills program. It's still a work in progress, and your input is always welcome!
The Championship Club helps provide equipment for use at a North American Unicycling Championships and Convention (NAUCC) and helps recognize the top unicyclists and volunteers at the NAUCC.
